Hello and welcome!
ABOUT whitney
Hello! My name is Whitney, and I am a licensed member of the College of Psychologists of New Brunswick (CPNB). I specialize in psychoeducational, ADHD, and gifted assessments.
I have always enjoyed working with people, particularly children and youth. When working with families, I strive to create a warm, friendly, and professional environment that takes into account each child’s unique personality and needs.
My Approach
I provide strength-based assessments with the goal of understanding the underlying factors contributing to a child’s academic, social, emotional, or behavioural difficulties. By developing a clear understanding of a child’s areas of strength and need, I aim to help parents better understand how their child learns and to provide practical strategies to support skill development and growth.

If your child, teen, or young adult is working hard but continues to find school or learning challenging, you are not alone. Difficulties may be seen in areas such as:
-
Reading, writing, or math
-
Understanding schoolwork
-
Staying focused
-
Keeping up with expectations
A comprehensive assessment can help better understand how they learn and guide next steps for support.
How I Can Help You
All individuals have areas of strength and some areas that may be more challenging. Sometimes, these challenges impact academic success. If your child or teen is having academic difficulties, struggles with attention and concentration, completing schoolwork, or is experiencing social, emotional, or behavioural challenges, psychoeducational assessment can help evaluate your child’s cognitive and academic profile as well as clarify learning strengths and areas of need. Psychoeducational assessments also help identify learning difficulties in areas such as reading, writing, and math, and provide a clearer understanding of how a child or teen learns and what supports may be helpful at school.
Psychological assessments provide a thorough understanding of an individual’s cognitive, academic, behavioural, and social-emotional functioning, and help identify areas of strength as well as areas that may benefit from support. Assessments may help clarify:
-
Learning disorders
-
Intellectual ability
-
Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
-
Mood and anxiety disorders
-
Behavioural difficulties
-
Giftedness
Through comprehensive assessment, I help individuals and their families understand areas of strength and need. Assessments may result in a diagnosis, but most importantly, help inform supports and strategies that promote development and positive outcomes at school, home, and within the community.
